Winter Futsal 2018

PSA futsal League starts February.  Details below, “Stay Calm and Play Futsal”.

Futsal is the only form of indoor soccer endorsed by FIFA. It is a 5 v 5 small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, heavier low bounce ball. Futsal is played with touchline boundaries and without walls.

Benefits of playing futsal:
Players touch the ball more often—600 percent more often
Players are forced to develop more moves. Merely booting the ball down the field—often the first option in the outdoor game—doesn’t work. Futsal players practice lots of fakes and tricks—because they have to. As one Brazilian told me, “Futsal is our national laboratory of improvisation.”
Players grow accustomed to operating in tight spaces. When they get to the outdoor game, futsal players feel as if they have all the room in the world.

PSA coaches will be on-site to organize the scheduled matches, as well as facilitate pickup-style games and guest playing. Players need to show up with gym-appropriate shoes (non-marking), team shirt, shin guards and water.  Game day procedures and rules of futsal can be found here

Coaches will provide a safe, fun environment for players to experience free play.  Players must experience the joy of playing just for the fun of it.  It just so happens that it’s also one of the best teachers of the game.
