The WCDA is a premier youth soccer program focused on established, elite clubs delivering consistent, high-quality competition and college readiness services for its members. Thirty youth soccer clubs across the western United States have formed the Western College Development Association, with teams representing clubs in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada and Colorado.

Consistent High-Level Competition & College Readiness

A primary objective of the WCDA is to provide consistent high-quality competition and enhanced college readiness opportunities for their elite soccer players. The WCDA will also provide an improved scouting environment for college coaches by bringing all of the teams together for a showcase event in Las Vegas, Nevada in November. In addition, the WCDA has created a College Advisory Board composed of coaches from Division I, II and III soccer programs who provide guidance and direction over the college readiness component of the Association.

Member clubs are chosen by the WCDA’s Soccer Advisory Board based on a number of criteria, including a club’s history of elite youth player development and past success in elite competitions.

The WCDA is a supplemental program, and member teams will continue to play in other leagues, tournaments and State Cup competitions. Players will also be able to participate on their high school teams.

Competitive Format

The WCDA has been divided into 4 conferences comprised of 6 or 8 teams. Schedules are crafted to minimize travel costs for families. WCDA teams will play 4 regional games and attend showcase events in Las Vegas, Nevada, Phoenix, Arizona or Portland, Oregon.

Crossfire Alaska Player Roadmap

The Crossfire Academy of Excellence is designed for the elite player and player development opportunity through Crossfire Alaska and is offered for player’s ages 13 to 19 years; however the program does not limit any player from participating regardless of their age. The program is for players committed to becoming the best they can, with opportunities to compete at the top levels of the youth sport.

The Crossfire Academy offers individual and team opportunity for training and travel with partner clubs and organizations, access to combined “showcase” travel teams, shorter travel rosters, and access to experienced high level coaches.  The Academy of Excellence program is partnered with Crossfire Premier through Crossfire AK.

Registration Fee: $10.00
Program Cost: $130.00 (PSA Player), $175.00 (non-PSA Player)/ per session

Through this partnership players have access to Elite-level opportunities including the two premier youth soccer leagues in the United States—the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) for girls, and the US Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) for boys, as well as access to and participation in the Western College Development Association (WCDA) for Crossfire Alaska players and teams, showcase opportunities within the Northwest Champions League (NWCL) and playing opportunities in the Premier Development League (PDL) for U-23 players.

Players 13 years of age and older can compete locally as Crossfire Alaska teams through the competitive program.

Players may incur significant additional cost associated with increased training, travel and year-round participation above competitive team registration costs.

Academy of Excellence players training, schedule and special events are managed directly by the club via the PSA Crossfire Alaska Calendar.  Currently training is expected 2 hours most weekends up to mid-March. Players may also attend additional training sessions at the MSC facility in Wasilla on the weekends.  The PSA Project 4.0 program is also included in the Academy of Excellence.

The Academy of Excellence is available to all players and is not limited to PSA membership.  Training with Crossfire does not guarrantee a position on the travel rosters but you must be in the Academy of Excellence to be considered. The competitive travel rosters will be selected from players  based on ability and position.
